HEADLAMPS FOR TORNADO

It is shown (below) being constructed in my workshop, made from sheet steel folded, rolled and welded components. Also some brass castings.
The electronic circuit was supplied by the A1 Trust and consists of a large heat sink populated with seven LED light sources and their electronic drivers, the whole circuit designed to fit within a replica B.R.(E) lamp case.
Next you see the finished lamp, notice that to comply with Network Rail rules the lens mount and glass are larger than original lamps, now being 150mm diameter. Arriving at York in the early hours of 19 November you get an idea just how bright this lamp is. It produces 50,000 candela!
Also seen here is the lamp being demonstrated after TORNADO was unveiled in her green livery on 13 December and put on display at the NRM York.

Other items I have supplied to 'TORNADO' include all the oil bottles and feeders, the firing shovels, warning flags and Bardic handlamps.
