OIL FEEDERS
The oil can illustrated has a high capacity of two pints. The dimensions of the body
are :-7” x 4” high. From handle to spout, the can is 20” long. The can is a product
that shows the skill of the tinsmith and is closely based on cans that were used by
British Rail in steam days. The body is fabricated and soldered; the top is pressed to
give the authentic profile, while a web strengthens the spout. A sliding filler lid is
provided and is protected from accidental damage by the raised collar. The tinplate
handle is wire reinforced.
OIL POURER
The small squat pourer is ideal for smaller locos as it fits into a corner or tool locker.
This can is ideal for steam oil as it may be warmed on the shelf over the firebox door.
LMS POURER
The slim bodied feeder with the
cork stopper is ideal for inside
cylinder engines as the feeder will
easily fit between the motion
rods demonstrated here by Terry
at the Churnet Valley Railway,
Cheddleton oiling around the
Midland 4F 0-6-0 No.44422.
