FOOTPLATE TROUSERS

Made from the same fabric as the overalls, GWR Trousers in place of Bib & brace were popular on the Western and Southern regions. Nowadays these are more comfortable in summer giving just a single layer of clothing. Designed to be worn over ordinary trousers, they have a high waist, so that if used with a belt (belt loops are fitted), the belt would fasten higher up than the belt on the inner trousers. They have pocket access slits, as per B&B. They also have buttons for separate braces. A belt may be worn but I am able to supply “traditional” older style BRACES if required.

The £8.00 Traditional Braces are just elasticated braces, with leather tabs to attach to the buttons on the waistband of any trousers so fitted.
